Dr. John and Mae Benjamin Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Medicine
Student Profile: Glendale Unified School District high school graduating senior who is accepted to attend an accredited college to pursue a medical or pre-med program.
Special Requirement: A personal essay on a separate piece of paper on medicine must be received with the scholarship application.
Application: CFV General Application plus cover sheet.
Average award: $1,000. Award may be renewable.

Christopher A. Burrows Memorial Scholarship
Deadline for this scholarship has been extended to March 24, 2014.
College Major/Area of Study: Any
Student Profile: College-bound senior who resides in La Canada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose or Verdugo City and is graduating in June 2014 from a high school in La Canada Flintridge or La Crescenta. Student must demonstrate a high level of academic and extracurricular achievement, strength of character, and zest for life. An applicant’s need for financial assistance will also be a consideration.
Special Requirements: All applicants must submit a Burrows Scholarship Statement and Personal Essay to be considered. Scholarship finalists will be interviewed in April 2014 by the Burrows Scholarship Committee, and the Burrows Scholars will be chosen from the interview group.

Katherine Bush Memorial Scholarship
Deadline for this scholarship is February 18, 2014.
College Major/Area of Study: A career working with youth i.e. teaching, recreation, pediatrics, etc.
Student Profile: College-bound Crescenta Valley High School graduating senior who is interested in the welfare of children and young people.
Special Requirement: A personal statement summarizing your goals, achievements, abilities, talents, characteristics, needs and your interest in the welfare of children and young people.
Application: Student must use a CVHS Scholarship Application plus cover sheet. Completed application packet is to be turned in to CVHS Administration Office by February 18, 2014 to be considered. Please make sure to follow these special instructions.
Average award: $1,000. Award may be renewable.

The 1st Christian Church of Glendale Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Any
Student Profile: Students must show proof of a minimum of 13 years residency in the Glendale, La Crescenta, La Cañada Flintridge, Montrose, Verdugo City, Sunland or Tujunga area, even if attending other private or public high schools. An example of fulfilling this criterion might be by providing a copy of a bill, rental agreement, mortgage/deed documentation, school transcript, parent's marriage certificate or other credible form from 13 years prior, showing that the address is in the area. Additionally, students must have a minimum overall 2.5 GPA and must be a U.S. citizen.
Special Requirements: Student must have a belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and their personal Savior, and in a personal essay (one or more paragraphs on a separate piece of paper), must explain their religious beliefs and views on what it means to be an American.

Glendale Latino Association Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Any
Student Profile: Student must have Latino Heritage and is graduating from a Glendale Unified School District high school or Glendale-area private high school. Student must be committed to attending a 2 or 4-year college/university or a technical training institution. Special consideration will be given to a student who provides community service.
Special Requirement: If qualified, the student will be considered for a personal interview. On a separate piece of paper, a written personal essay on the student’s Latino Heritage as well as the importance of education is required.

Gonzales Harris Bilingual Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Any
Student Profile: Graduating high school senior of the Verdugo region public or private schools planning to attend, and student already attending, an accredited community college, four-year college, or vocational school may apply. The applicant must have a minimum overall 3.5 GPA and be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and be able to demonstrate fluency (written and verbal) in both Spanish and English.
Special Requirement: Student must submit a personal essay outlining the importance of education and contributing back to the community; essay should also include reference to student's bilingual fluency and its benefits including cultural awareness which helps to make one a better citizen overall. The student's Spanish fluency will be assessed during interview.

Award ranges between: $2,000 to $6,000 (Depending upon college/school attendance.) Award may be renewable.

The Sambar Scholarship Endowment
College Major/Area of Study: Any
Student Profile: College-bound, graduating senior of a Glendale Unified School District high school. Student must be committed to attending a 2 or 4-year college/university and must demonstrate financial need. Additionally, the student must show that the scholarship will make a difference in the student's ability to obtain higher education.
Special Requirement: In a written personal essay on a separate sheet of paper, the student must discuss overcoming obstacles that he/she has faced during his/her life.

Tuesday Afternoon Club Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Any
Student Profile: Student must be a graduating senior from a high school within the Glendale Unified School District and must be continuing his/her education at a college, vocational, or technical institute. Financial need must be demonstrated, along with proof of U.S. Citizenship and community service. The student should be able to show a potential for achievement, success, and self-motivation.
Special Requirement: In a written personal essay on a separate sheet of paper, the student must discuss the importance of education. If qualified, the student may be considered for a personal interview.

Phil Ellis Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Business, Accounting, Economics or Marketing
Student Profile: Graduating senior from any high school in Burbank, Glendale, Montrose, La Crescenta, La Canada or Verdugo City.
Special Requirement: In a written personal essay on a separate sheet of paper, the student must include the importance of Business, Accounting, Economics, or Marketing and how it affects society as a whole.

John Krikorian Journalism Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Journalism, Publishing, Marketing or Business
Student Profile: Graduating senior from high schools in the Burbank, Glendale, Foothill, or surrounding Los Angeles areas.
Special Requirement: In a written personal essay on a separate piece of paper, discuss career goals in the area(s) of journalism, publishing, marketing or business must be received with the scholarship application.
